Dubai CommerCity connects with entrepreneurs and tech startups to showcase latest e-commerce trends and opportunities at Rise Up
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – December 02, 2019: Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the first dedicated e-commerce free zone in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) region, will be providing high potential entrepreneurs, tech startups and creative gurus with a sequence of industry-related events and effective exposure opportunities at RiseUp Summit 2019. The event will be held from December 5-7 at The American University in Cairo and will feature a series of talks, sessions, panels, and workshops on the regional startup ecosystem.
During the event, DCC will organize a hackathon that will gather hundreds of developers to showcase innovative ideas in e-commerce digital inclusion and compete for monetary rewards. DCC’s Hackathon sponsorship comes in line with the free zone’s objective to support economic diversification and smart transformation strategies.
DCC will also sponsor Pitch by the Pyramid, a regional pitch competition that not only offers a platform for startups to showcase their ideas, but also provides them with the relevant coaching and mentoring sessions on business basics, market intelligence and growth planning. DCC participation will also offer startups the opportunity to display their businesses in order to gain exposure and discuss potential collaborations with industry experts.
Amna Lootah, Assistant Director General at DAFZA said: “Participating in RiseUp Summit 2019 will present us with the opportunity to further connect with SMEs in the region. Our aim is to help the participating startups to gain exposure and provide them with the opportunity to connect with investors and industry experts who are directly involved in the startup ecosystem. Dubai CommerCity is committed to supporting SMEs as it continues to offer a wide array of services and facilities that provide small to medium sized enterprises the opportunity to set up their business with ease and to operate seamlessly. By hosting the hackathon at RiseUp Summit 2019, DCC reinforces its role of supporting SMEs from all around the globe to maximize their contribution to future diversification.”
DCC will provide global and regional manufacturers, as well as distributors and global e-retailers the opportunity to benefit from the growth that the region is witnessing in the coming years. It will also facilitate the e-commerce startup ecosystem by offering SMEs the opportunity to benefit from the facilities and services.
